Shut up with your nonsense, Michael. It's clear to anyone that you've hit your head a few too many times on the hard concrete in Nørrebro. The drunks you're talking about are lost souls being extorted by the local gangs. Your Khat-chewing black friend is a dealer waiting for the next customer with a belly hanging out. I don't know who this Jonas is that supposedly has both a kiosk and a pizzeria there, but it must have been a while since you've been there because now it's Mohammed and Ali who have taken over the business. And when, as you mention, there are no people in Nørrebro Park (or on the streets in general), it's because there's been another shooting and people are hiding under their tables at home for fear that it's their turn to get stray bullets coming through the window. Good for you that you're proud of the dirty Nørrebro, Michael BuhlSHIT – but maybe it's time for a deep clean?!
NBP is the best skatepark in the world. It's like a living room in the summer. It exudes a vibe of raw street. There's no bullshit. If you fall, you get hurt. There's no smooth wooden surface or slick concrete. There's asphalt like the rest of the world. And friends asking if you're okay. There are drunks and Khat-chewing Somalis just around the corner. There are thousands of cyclists zooming by. There are photographers practicing and asking for shots. There's Jonas' kiosk just around the corner. He sells cheap beers, and you can get a loan if you're in a pinch on this day of the week. Right next to it is Jonas' Pizzeria where you can get a decent Greek beef pita. There's Nørrebro Park where you can lie in the sun and chat and laugh. In winter, the park is cold. But it gets warmed up by all the people who still come for a session. They just need to get a grind. Or mess around with something they want to escape from for a bit. Then you can grind under the awning or just talk. When you walk past Nørrebro Park, there's always someone to greet. The few times there aren't, it feels like a heart stop. You always have the feeling that something's happening down there. That someone is in pain or reaching for a trick – one that's been waiting far too long. People who don't know Nørrebro Park say it looks dirty. But that's our dirt. It's our mess. We made it ourselves. And we're proud of it.
Very street! Great if you're into that sort of thing, but it takes a lot of imagination to come up with new tricks if you skate there too much.
